Product Description
The tubes in the A249 grade are produced in seamless, welded, and erw configurations. The ASME SA249 Stainless Steel Seamless Tubing is utilized in high pressure and temperature applications as it shows no welds or seams on its surface. This is achieved by passing hot steel billets through the extruded metal giving these tubes excellent strength and the best load-bearing capacity compared to other types of tubes in this range. ASTM A249 Stainless Steel Welded Tubes, on the contrary, is a versatile grade produced by rolling sheets or strips followed by welding them in different procedures. These tubes may not be strong as seamless types but are cheaper than the latter. The A249 ERW Tubes are produced by passing high voltage current through metal to weld them in place longitudinally. These tubes usually don’t require filler metal to be welded in place. ASTM A249 Stainless Steel ERW Tubes are extremely strong and durable as there is no requirement for a fusion of metals in this grade. The weld seam on these tubes is not clearly visible and is seen as in welded tubes. For any queries and questions about our products or their pricing point, contact us for more information.
